An interior studio · Brooklyn, NY
Solene is a small studio designing residential and hospitality interiors. We compose rooms slowly, for clients who plan to live in them for a long time.
— What we do
Whole homes, single rooms, and apartments. We draw the room, source every piece, and oversee the install.
4–10 monthsSmall hotels, restaurants, and studios. Rooms that perform under traffic and still feel inhabited.
6–14 monthsVintage hunts, dealer relationships in Paris and Brussels, and one‑off commissions from artisans we know by name.
OngoingWe draw the architecture alongside the interior — millwork, plasterwork, lighting plans. We work with your builder.
By inquiryThe pieces a room earns over time — art, textiles, ceramics — installed in a single afternoon.
2–4 weeksA room is not a performance. It is a place someone wakes up in.

Solene is two of us — a designer and a sourcer — and a long list of artisans.
We take six commissions a year. Often fewer.
Our clients return. A second house, a daughter's first apartment.
— A working palette
We choose materials that age rather than perform — surfaces that look better in their second decade than their first.

— How a commission unfolds
A long visit to the house. We watch how light moves and ask many questions. No fee.
A mood book — references, swatches, plans. Three to five weeks. Refundable against the work.
We source the room — vintage hunts, custom commissions, millwork. We oversee install on site.
A single afternoon of styling — art, textiles, ceramics. We return six months later to revisit.
— Begin a conversation
We respond within three business days, and only if we think we are right for the work. A short note is enough to begin.
