A note from the studio
Bench & Plumb is four people — a designer, two carpenters, a foreman — working out of a shop on NE Alberta Street. We take eight commissions each year. We charge honestly for time.

Drawn for the way you cook. Quarter‑sawn cabinetry, honed stone, brass hardware finished by hand.
14–18 weeksSpaces that read as small rooms rather than serviced fixtures. Stone floors, plaster walls, unlacquered brass.
8–12 weeksA single foreman holds the room. We draw, we mill, we set the stone. One contract, one number.
5–9 monthsNew rooms drawn into old houses without the seam showing. Often a kitchen wing or a quiet study.
4–7 monthsPre‑war and Craftsman homes brought back to their first dignity. We mill beadboard to match.

A 1928 powder room rebuilt around a single window. Lime plaster, soapstone slab, unlacquered brass.
We are four — a designer, two carpenters, and a foreman.
We drew our first kitchen in 2008. The owners still cook in it.
We did not grow larger because we did not want to.

A two-hour visit. We listen to the room before we measure it. No charge, no commitment.
Hand-drawn elevations and a written program. Two to three weeks. Refundable against the build.
We do the woodwork in our shop and the stonework on site. One foreman from start to walk-through.
We come back twelve months later, tighten the hinges, and write the room into our archive.
